| Chicago - ProNet World Tour October 2003 |  | | We have decided to make Chicago our last stop on the US Tour to pick up our Escort out to the 200 mile limit. So far, we have travelled 10,000 Km on our journey. Here we are getting a briefing at Johnsburg Field in Chicago IL after we touched down. Pictured here are a couple of Raptors, a Nexus on Floats for the Ocean Rescue part, and an AirWolf gunship as the long haul Escort. The Pilot in command is now Gregg Manglaris of Cary, IL. | | | | | | | Shown here is the ProNet beside Ron Anderson's AirWolf, a fully scaled Nitro job with running lights, retracts, guns and everything else an Escort needs. CLICK HERE for the video of the Chicago "Rap Pack" launching it's squadron to head out and escort the ProNet into Johnsburg. Typical of Chicago, the winds at the field were 10-15kts gusting, as you can readily see in the footage. No big deal for the AirWolf and the big block Raptor, but a stretch for the ProNet in formation. | |  | | | | |  | | It seems at every stop, there is at least one Heli that looks like the ProNet on steroids. This is Gregg's Raptor 60 beside the ProNet. In a way, we are sorry to be leaving the USA, but the World Tour adventure must continue on a whole new set of frequencies, and a totally new set of circumstances. Who knows what adventures lie across the pond... | | | | Goodbye Chicago, Goodbye America. You have shown the trust, friendship and humour that makes you great by the simple act of being unconditional hosts to the tiny outstretched arm of the ProNet. As we sit here in line in the autumn sun awaiting clearance to Europe, it's not hard to glimpse that the adventures of ProNet are so much more than rotors and motors. It will only become clear to all of us long after the last pilot in command has taken flight in a place yet to be defined, joined by this physical idea that weighs a little over 300 grams. | |  |
