8. Hong Kong - Fun in the Far East
Hong Kong - ProNet World Tour Far East  Wing - Jan / Feb 2004

Hong Kong! The tour log now shows a total of 26,000 Km and 8 months travelled to finally cross the International Date Line. This is a seriously busy, bustling country. There are 6.7 million people living in an area of 423 sq. miles. Fortunately for ProNet, we have an excellent host in Stephen Fan, the boss and owner of CyberHeli. Stephen lives and breathes RC Heli's, and is a first class businessman to boot. Here we are, inbound to the private CyberHeli Field and testing grounds, downwind in the circuit with clearance to the ramp for landing. Our ProNet Pilot for Hong Kong is Michael Leung, Reigning China and Singapore National F3C Champion.

7. Europe - Greetings from Holland
The Netherlands - ProNet World Tour European  Stop - Dec 2003

Yahoo! We made it to Europe! We've travelled a total of 16,000 Km and six months to get here. This Continent  is totally different than North America. Everything is so compact. Our first issue is to reconfigure our receiver to 35mhz. As you can see here, Rob from Quartel  is thinking about  the setup for European Flying in the Heart of the Netherlands. Winter is beginning in the Northern Hemisphere, and the weather is starting to show it. We will be flying indoors.

Connecticut- ProNet World Tour Mid Sept   2003

Since we left, we've flown North East for another 900 miles to Oakville, Connecticut. The new pilot at the controls is Erez  Eller. It's been over  three months since leaving Victoria, and we've traveled a total of 8,400 km so far. Our mission in Connecticut is to touch base with the name that started it all, Sikorsky Helicopters, located in Bridgeport.  Here we are inbound to the famous Sikorsky Button, where the biggest and best have touched the same tarmac as we are about to do ...

4. Virginia .. Yes, there is a World Tour
Virginia - ProNet World Tour August  21 2003

Since we left Dallas, we've flown North East for another 1500 miles to Ashburn, Virginia. The new pilot at the controls is Aobid  Aziz. It's been two months since leaving Victoria, and we've traveled a total of 6,900 km so far. Somewhere between Texas and Virginia we were bounced by a USPS Eagle, and took a direct hit on the EDF. The Eagle took the worst of the damage from our 2300rpm rotor, and may have spiraled into a power line somewhere near Cleveland. We aren't sure what happened after the lights went out, but we ended up here in Virginia Emergency, where Aobid took charge.

2. California Dreamin' ... For real
California - ProNet World Tour, July 12 2003
Since leaving Victoria in June, ProNet has travelled 2,200 km, and has safely arrived in California. We kept the 'land on our left' all the way down the coast from Clover Point Victoria Canada, and it worked out fine. Seems fitting that we took off with a tanker in the background out of Victoria, and arrive in California with the Queen Mary on our starboard. It's so good to have made it in one piece, and we've never been to Hollywood.  The new Pilot in Command, and our Host in this fabulous part of the state will be Steve Campbell of DreamHobbies. He took over from Dana, (the Old Man) who guided us out of Clover Point, way  up North.  Check out the videos under the more information, including the 3D session by Steve..

1. Victoria BC Departure
Victoria Departure - Start of the ProNet World Tour, June 16 2003, 00:03 GMT

It's 8 AM Pacific Standard Time. Spent the last hour swapping out the Shulze 18-be ESC for the newly arrived CC Phoenix 10, and programming it. On the last test flight yesterday, the Shulze lost it's programming, wouldn't start the Hacker reliably, so our first mod on the Tour is here, on the morning of the very first departure.  With the ProNet sitting quietly on the the Sea Wall at Clover Point, the first official leg of the World ProNet Tour is about to begin. At 8:02 AM,  a seagull floated on down towards the ProNet perched on the wall. He did a tight 360 spiral, expertly dropped his landing gear, flared and effortlessly stalled one inch off the wall and landed right beside the still silent micro heli. He eyed the fluorescent colors, and sidled on up to the machine. Afraid that the bully seagull might boot the Pro off the wall while not under power, I initialized the turbine tail, and carefully inched the collective up. The Castle Phoenix did it's job , and to my relief, the white rotors began to spin up. The seagull bully squawked, turned and dove off the wall. We were ready to roll, and the runway was clear ..
