Setup Stuff

Packing the ProNet for Shipping to Next Pilot
Packaging the ProNet for the next World Tour Pilot is a bit of an art. You'll notice the outer case is tough, but you still need to protect and isolate the heli from the drop off the cargo door. First, put the shaped foam insert inside the cowling to protect the canopy from caving in. It is slotted, and slides over the battery rods. Push the antenna tube back to align with the tail, being careful not to wreck the Rx antenna in the process. Put the landing gear into the slots in the foam, make sure the Tail and nose are clear of the casing for drop clearance

ProNet Design
The ProNet is a combination of MIA Micro-FLIGHT CF frame and LG setup, using concepts of seperates per the Piccolo Pro crowd, with a fly by wire  Turbine Tail from a GWS EDF 50, managed by a CSM200 HH gyro.

It is designed around the ETec 1200 LiPo power, and the weight and balance take that into account. It uses a Hornet style Rotor system, based on 120 deg swash and a custom built shaft. Unlike the hornet, the mass and C of G for the machine are as close as practical to the swash, for better cyclic response based on the moment of inertia.

Mains power is a hacker B20-31s, driving a Piccolo main gear and an 8T pinion. RPM's in the near 3000 range are possible, swinging the Hornet sized blades. The Main ESC is now a Castle Creation's Phoenix 10.

ProNet General Guidelines

www.RCeHeli.com

 General

  1. The ProNet belongs to you while it’s in your care. Please keep in touch with the webmaster@RCeHeli.com to keep your information up to date, as well as your email address.
  2. If there are mechanical/electronic problems with the heli, let the webmaster know ASAP, as we will have lots of expertise available to get it back in the air. Don’t suffer in silence.
  3. You are strongly encouraged to provide photos. Video and impressions in raw form to the webmaster@RCeHeli.com , so we can dress them up an post them at  http://rceheli.com/ProNet/world_tour/ as soon as possible. There will be quite a following, so this is the appetite we have to feed.
  4. Please don’t try to fly the heli above your skill level. Remember, there is a Pilot waiting at the next stop that is counting on you to get it there.
  5. Use training gear if you feel you initially feel more comfortable. Better to find an issue with your setup on training gear than upside down on the tarmac without it.
  6. By the same token, it is meant to be flown, and many other pilots will look forward to see your unique photo opportunities online.

ProNet Setup Requirements
Setting up the World Tour ProNet

IMPORTANT!

If you are the designated Pilot / Mechanic for your zone, it is very important for you to read thru these setup procedures, as the ProNet is quite different than either the Piccolo Pro or the Hornet. Overall, if you have any doubts, email Dana to clarify any points, or to get hints that can help your flights to be successful. I'd recommend that you use training gear for the first hover, to make sure you have the expo's, sensitivities, and servo directions lined up. This machine can be very quick. You should also be aware of initializing the tail before your wind up the Main, if you are a pure Hornet Driver.

This setup is geared to LiPoly ETec 1200's. The connector to the battery is assumed to be a mini Dean's, with the Positive terminal on the battery extended as the male spike. Please check before connecting power, that your polarity is correct, or you could fry the ESC's.
